Resolved
All systems were mitigated, then patched and updated where available.
Some kernel versions do not yet have a full patch, but the mitigations in place prevent the exploit and is considered safe.
Monitoring
We’ve been made aware of another new security vulnerability in the Linux Kernel. Dubbed “Dirty Frag”, this vulnerability allows for local privilege escalation on a number of Linux distributions, including the ones we run on our platform. This is similar to the recent “CopyFail” exploit that was disclosed and patched last week.
A workaround mitigation has been applied to all of our servers. There is currently no available patch from our Linux vendors, but as soon as one is available, we will deploy it.
If you have any questions regarding this, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We appreciate your patience whilst we work to update your servers.
